Gender Crash, The Film!

Of poets/spoken wordsters/literary geeks/journal writers/queers/transgender/gender queers

In 2004 Gunner Scott approached Margy Bergel about shooting footage for a documetary about Gender Crash. The open mic was coming up on it's five year anniversary, Gunner wanted to capture the amazing performances he had been priviledged to witness over the years, sharing them with the world and to make all who perform superstars. Margy not only shot footage of the five year anniversary, but has taken the project on full force- wanting to create a full length feature about Gender Crash Open Mic.

In August of 2005 after filming four different months of Gender Crashes and lots of interviews the filming is wrapped up. The film is currently in the editing phase of production. Currently we are in need of financial support to finish this project. If you are intersted in financially supporting this project or volunteering to research and write grants, please email gendercrash.

Watch this page for more details on the release date for the film, which we hope will be Spring 2006.
